Real Wedding Spotlight - Julie and Bill's Chic Burgundy Wedding

JULIE AND BILL’S CHIC BURGUNDY WEDDING

At Springfield Country Club nothing makes us happier than a love story, and Julie and Bill’s journey to saying “I do” is nothing short of timeless. We asked the couple a few questions for a deeper dive into the inspiration behind their chic burgundy wedding

Q: How did you meet?

A (Bill): We met in graduate school in Houston, Texas. We were in separate programs, but had a few classes together. We first started talking on public transportation on the way to school. I was slow on the uptake and didn’t ask for Julie’s phone number immediately. I ended up sending her an email inviting her out with some friends one weekend. She decided to join and we’ve been hanging out ever since.

Q: How did the proposal happen?

A (Bill): I proposed to Julie in my hometown of Franklin, PA. It was Christmas Eve, there was snow on the ground, and I took her on a walk along a river. There’s a bridge over the water (Belmar Bridge) we walked across and when we were halfway back across the bridge I got down on one knee. I was happy no one was around and that I didn’t drop the ring into the river.

Q: Why did you choose Springfield Country Club?

A (Julie): We wanted to get married in Philadelphia because we have a lot of family and friends in the area. Springfield Country Club provided a beautiful venue and attention to detail from the moment we began talking. We loved that their wedding package left little for us to worry about. Having the hotel on site also allowed all our guest to easily enjoy themselves.

Q: What advice would you give to future couples/newlyweds?

A (Julie): Don’t worry about all the small details. Everything falls into place. Go with the flow and enjoy your special day…it goes by quickly.

Q: What was your favorite part about wedding planning?

A (Bill): The food tasting! Enough said…

Q: What song did you pick for your first dance?

A (Bill): Billy Joel – Just The Way You Are. We wanted a timeless song and we love the message of the song.

Q: What was your favorite part of the wedding?

A (Julie): The dance floor at the reception since we got to see everyone we are close with really enjoying themselves.

Q: What did you do to make your day extra special?

A (Bill and Julie): We invited all the people that were most important to us. We also surrounded ourselves with great help so we didn’t have to worry about any details on the wedding day.
