1. Embracing color

In previous years, weddings color palettes have been filled with soft, classic colors. This upcoming year, we’ll be heading in a more fun direction by embracing color and new color combinations that have never been done before. Think pops of bright and bold colors that are fun, daring, and youthful. Pantone Color Institute recently announced “Living Coral” as its color of the year which is just one of the many bold colors that couples will be incorporating into their weddings in 2019.

2. Non-traditional bridesmaid dresses

Long gone are the days of forcing your bridal party to all wear the same dress. We all know how challenging it can be to find a dress that looks good on all body types and fits each of your bridesmaid’s personal styles. In 2019, we’ll be seeing brides mixing it up with mismatched bridesmaid dresses. This creates a unique ensemble filled with gorgeous dresses in different styles, colors, fabrics, and hemlines. Not only does this trend allow you to highlight each individual bridesmaid, it also ensures that she’s wearing a dress that she feels comfortable and confident in. From the same dress style in different colors to the same dress color in different styles or even a different dress color and style, there are so many different ways you can create a cohesive, complementary look without having your bridesmaids wearing the exact same dress.

3. Mixed wedding parties

When it comes to your bridesmaids, the old rules no longer apply. Not only can they wear mismatched gowns, you can also have more bridesmaids than groomsmen or even include mine as your “maids” as well! 2019 will be the year of mixed and nontraditional wedding parties as more and more couples are opting for mixed-gender bridal parties. Expect to see a mix of genders standing on both sides of the aisle at wedding this upcoming year.

4. Yellow gold bands

It’s no surprise that the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has recently had a major impact on couples planning their weddings. Meghan Markle’s yellow gold engagement ring has served as a major inspiration for brides-to-be and we’ll be seeing a rise of yellow gold rings on brides in 2019. Yellow gold is a great metal choice as it works with both diamonds and colorful gemstones, which are also on the rise this year. It also complements just about every type of setting from classic to modern and even vintage. Many jewelers are hopping on this trend and offering an assortment of yellow gold engagement rings to their customers. Online jeweler, Blue Nile, makes it easy to shop engagement ring styles, including this popular new trend, directly on their website.
